Throwaways

Throwaways is a photo series dealing with the mundanity of the everyday and disposable nature of digital images in current times. These compilations are made up of photographs taken throughout a given day that I felt were insignificant or poorly taken. Where usually these photos would be thrown away they are instead compiled into a depository as they await their new life to take form. They are then layered upon each other as an amassing of the unremarkable experiences and in turn become a sort of reflection of the everyday. Through this act of re-interpretation these photographs now take on a new form, amalgamations of different seemingly monotonous moments and spaces become a dimension of disorder, abstraction and intrigue. Skies that are chairs, cities within people, mountains occupy skyscrapers. The photos ask of us how we see the world on a daily basis and how we might twist our perspective to unveil new worlds and embrace the possible alternate realities that may lay here.
