I am a 26 year old Irish artist currently based in Dresden, Germany. My practice deals with our relationship with warfare in the context of modern day media consumption and the emotional consequence that accompanies it.
Within my practice I largely work with a strong emphasis on lens based processes, often utilizing found footage or related media accessible on the internet. With these materials I strip them away from their original circumstances and re-present them in a manner that exposes hidden contexts relevant to current affairs.
The work seeks to investigate the human psychological relationship with war in this current era of mass internet absorption, looking particularly at areas such as the blurred line of reality and fantasy as well as the impact this media consumption can have on our emotional response to conflict.
